South Africa Social Media
The recent student protests that rocked South Africa were notable not because of the students’ demands, but because of the medium and who it reached. Through social media, the movement, which represented a tiny fraction of South African society, got widespread attention in a way no movement has in a long time. VOA's Anita Powell has more from Johannesburg.
